While the first Triumph Bonneville hit the streets in 1959, the story hardly begins there. Triumph motorcycles and the British motorcycle industry in general were enjoying a wave of success and popularity, in the marketplace, on the racetrack and on the street. Triumph was not only the sales leader among the other British brands, but they were also leading the way in performance.
